Role: Construction Planner / Scheduler (Contract)

Workload: Part-time (3–4 days per week)

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Construction Planner / Scheduler to join their team on a contract basis, supporting the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects. This role will play a critical part in ensuring project schedules are tightly aligned with cost forecasts, procurement milestones, and supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project schedules that integrate cost, time, and procurement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with project, commercial, and supply chain teams to ensure key materials, equipment, and subcontractor deliverables align with critical project milestones.
  • Monitor and report on schedule and cost performance, identifying potential delays or supply chain constraints and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Support the forecasting of cash flow, resource demand, and procurement timelines to ensure budget and delivery objectives are met.
  • Analyse schedule impacts from supply chain changes, lead-time variations, or scope adjustments, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear and accurate progress reports for management, highlighting schedule health, cost performance, and supply chain risks.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Planner or Scheduler within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project with advanced planning and reporting skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project, commercial, and supply chain teams.
  • Commercially minded, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks and opportunities.
