The project management domain has been evolving over recent years, with agile methods and practices become increasingly popular as organisations seek to respond faster and more effectively to ever-increasing change initiatives.

Our PMI Agile Certified Practitioner exam preparation course provides the necessary study and preparation required to obtain the globally recognised Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and enable the fast pace of change and empowerment that is integral to agile.

The purpose of this certification program is to build a comprehensive knowledge base of agile best practices, to enable project managers and team members to apply the tools and techniques when working within an agile environment, with a goal of obtaining a professional certification credential of the highest calibre.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course prepares participants to undertake and pass the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner Examination and, on successful completion, it will enable participants to:

  • Describe in detail the agile principles and mindset
  • Understand value driven incremental delivery processes
  • Effectively engage stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop a high performing team
  • Adaptively plan as the project progresses through the life cycle
  • Identify and resolve threats and issues
  • Leverage learnings to encourage and promote continuous improvement
  • Use a broad range of agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, extreme Programming (XP) and test-driven development (TDD)
  • Understand the requirements of the certification application process and fully prepare for the PMI’s Agile Practitioner Certification and exam process

The course covers the seven domains as detailed in PMI’s exam content outline, as follows:

The course also includes the practical application of agile tools and techniques associated with: agile analysis and design; estimating; communications; interpersonal skills; metrics; planning, monitoring and adapting; process improvement; product quality; risk management and value-based prioritisation.

Trainers of this course will use a practical delivery approach to provide participants with a ‘hands-on’, multi-faceted and challenging learning experience. Understanding and recall techniques will be used to provide participants with a solid understanding of agile.

Courses are facilitated by our expert team and can be conducted onsite or at our premises. All courses can be customised to suit your requirements.

Materials: A comprehensive practitioner participant handbook will be provided.

CERTIFICATION EXAM

The certification exam has 120 multiple-choice questions and you have three hours to complete it. The exam may be taken via an online proctor from home or your office.

This qualification is valid for 3 years and certification holders must earn 30 Professional Development Units (PDUs) in agile topics within a 3-year cycle to actively maintain their certification.

DEVELOPMENT UNITS

Participants who have been awarded the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential by the Project Management Institute (PMI) are eligible to earn 21 PDUs for their participation in this course.

Participants holding any of the Project Management accreditations (CPPP/CPPM/ CPPD) are eligible to earn 20 CPDs for this short course.

PMI-ACP EXAM ELIGIBILITY

To be able to apply to sit the PMI-ACP exam, the pre-requisites are:

  • 2,000 hours of general project experience working on teams. A current Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Program Management Professional (PgMP)® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.
  • 1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies. This requirement is in addition to the 2,000 hours of general project experience.
  • 21 contact hours of training in agile practices.

Sydney courses are held at 45 Clarence Street, Sydney.

Melbourne courses are held at 123 Queen Street, Melbourne.

IS THIS A CERTIFIED COURSE?

No. This course is a preparation course only. At the conclusion of this course, participants will register through the Project Management Institute (PMI) to undertake the relevant examination at an additional cost.

However, you do receive a Completion Certificate from PM-Partners group stating that you have undertaken 21 contact hours of education. This will provide the prerequisite project management education needed to sit the PMI-ACP certification.


IS THE EXAM FEE INCLUDED?

No. The exam fee is not included in the course cost.
