Implementing SAFe offers attendees the broadest level of insight into each layer of a SAFe implementation. This course is for those who want to be a leader in a Lean-Agile transformation.
This course and resulting certification will help you understand the roles of each person in a SAFe organisation and then plan and guide a SAFe transformation.
During this course, you will learn how to identify value streams, launch agile release trains, optimise flow, and apply OKRs to Strategic Themes that define the targeted outcomes for the SAFe transformation. You will also practice the principles of Agile product management and product delivery.
The first two days of the course cover Leading SAFe and will enable you to coach others in your organisation in adopting a Lean-Agile mindset and in applying SAFe’s principles and practices.
The final two days focus on implementing and applying the principles and practices of the Scaled Agile Framework as part of an enterprise SAFe transformation.

Attending this course prepares you to take the SAFe Practice Consultant (6.0) exam and become a certified SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC). The exam is a multiple choice, closed-book, web-based examination (120 mins, 60 questions, 80% passing score) taken after course completion.
Attendees who pass the exam will be able to:
- Lead SAFe classes upon certification
- Network and learn from other SPCs in exclusive Scaled Agile community of practice
- Attend monthly webinars to advance your SAFe knowledge and earn professional development units (PDUs)
- Access toolkits and resources essential to being an effective Agile coach and SAFe transformation leader
Note: First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.
Attendees must attend all days of the course to be eligible for the exam.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
All are welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended for those who intend to take the SPC certification exam:
- 5+ years’ experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product or project management
- Experience in Scrum
Whilst not a formal prerequisite, it is recommended that you have undertaken the Scrum Master Certified (SMC®) course to better understand the concepts.
This course is intended for those who will be directly involved in and leading a SAFe implementation, including:
- Leaders and change agents driving the change in your organisation
- Programme and Project Managers
- Product and Product Line Management
- Portfolio Managers, PMO, and Process Leads
- Members of a Lean-Agile Centre of Excellence or Agile Transformation Office
- Consultants and trainers who will be delivering agile training
- Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and coaches who will be facilitating events and activities
Mark Richards has been involved with the SAFe Framework since 2012 when he coached Australia’s first Scaled Agile implementation at Telstra. In 2013 he made major contributions to the framework which led him to being named the world’s first SAFe Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT) outside of Scaled Agile Inc. and he is one of only 13 SAFe Fellows in the world. Quinn is also on his journey to becoming SPCT qualified and will take his trip to the United States later this year to formalise his qualifications.

IS THIS A CERTIFIED COURSE?
Yes. The exam is undertaken on the final day of the course. Upon passing the exam you will be certified.

Yes. The exam fee is included in the course cost if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.
